Local Photographer Earns Silver Level Photographer of the Year Award

Madonna Lovett Repeta of Photography by Madonna in Bedford, NH has earned a Silver Level Photographer of the Year Award from Professional Photographers of America (PPA). She will be honored at PPA’s annual convention, Imaging USA, in January in Nashville, TN. She will receive her award at the Grand Ole Opry.

A PPA member earns a Photographer of the Year Award by earning a merit for each of the four images submitted in their print case – an incredible accomplishment. All merited images enter the PPA’s renowned General Collection.

The level of the award is determined by how many of those four prints receive the highest possible honor: acceptance into the PPA Loan Collection. The Loan Collection travels the world for one year and is displayed at print exhibits, conventions and other photography events.

Madonna Lovett Repeta received a Silver Level Photographer of the Year Award, meaning that one of her four merited prints entered the PPA Loan Collection. In 2009, she was one of only 67 Silver Level Photographers of the Year worldwide.

“These awards are among the most prestigious in the industry,” confirms PPA Exhibition Committee Chair Helen Yancy. “The recipients of these awards have proven the quality of their work on a consistent basis in one of the highest quality image competitions in the world, PPA’s International Print Competition.

PPA, a worldwide association, exists to assist its more than 22,000 members in achieving their professional, artistic and fraternal goals, promote public awareness of the profession and to advance the making of images in all of its disciplines as an art, a science and a visual recorder of history.

Ms. Repeta has been a professional photographer in Bedford for over 13 years. She specializes in Portraits, Fine Art and Real Estate photography.

October update

Business has been unbelievably busy! We feel very blessed to share so many special moments with our clients as we capture a newborns first image, a couple expecting their first child, a high school senior entering their last year of high school and preparing for life after high school and the families who get together for a family portrait. We have also been busy photographing Real Estate exteriors and interiors. Linda and I find this fun and sometime challenging. This month, we also photographed the Bedford Fire Department's Open House,the NH Firefighter/EMT Awards Night at the Capitol Center in Concord and the Fallen Firefighter Memorial service in Concord. These images are currently available for viewing on my website www.PhotographyByMadonna.com under the LINKS tab. Here is a short video clip from using some of the images from the 3 firefighter events we photogrpahed month.

I am just back from PPANE (Professional Photographers of New England) Conference. I attended some great courses, earned some ribbons for my images, spent time with friends and went too many days without much sleep. I also won a Scholarship for NEIPP (New England Institute of Professional Photography)!!!!
